认知语言学是语言学的一门分支学科,涉及人工智能、语言学、心理学、系统论等多种学科。认知语言学提出语言的创建、学习及运用基本上都必须能够通过人类的认知而加以解释,因为认知能力是人类获取知识的根本。认知语言学理论对大学英语词汇教学的启示主要包括:重视基本范畴词汇教学,加强词语原型意义的理解和英语词汇分层次教学,加强词语隐喻义的教学等。
Cognitive linguistics is a branch of linguistics and involves various disciplines such as artificial intelligence, linguistics, psychology, and systems theory. Cognitive linguistics suggests that the creation, learning, and use of language must all be explained through human cognition, because cognitive ability is the basis for humans to acquire knowledge. The enlightenment of cognitive linguistic theories to college English vocabulary teaching includes: paying attention to the basic categories of vocabulary teaching, strengthening the understanding of lexical prototypical meanings, teaching English vocabulary at different levels, and strengthening the teaching of metaphorical meaning of words and phrases.
