为促进海内外青年学者的学术交流与合作，鼓励留学人员以多种方式为祖国服务，推动我国前沿学科的发展，中国科学院和国家自然科学基金委员会从１９９１年开始，每年联合举办若干次不同学科的青年学者学术讨论会，吸引海内外的优秀青年科技工作者参加。１９９７年“中国青年学者学术讨论会”拟举办７次，现将讨论会的有关情况简介如下（“电子显微学讨论会”已于１９９７年２月召开，介绍从略），感兴趣的青年学者可直接与承办单位联系。
